Protecting Your Home in the Fall

September / Early fall is finally here, this marks the end of summer vacation and…..Ahhhh, the kids go back to school!  The days are warm, but the nights start to get cool.  We start to realize that soon winter will be here.  Well guess what, the bugs start to think the same way.  They start to look for places to be able to move indoors and find a warm home to survive through the winter.

Untreated wasps and yellow jackets that you said are no big deal because they are just outside will start to navigate through your attic and ceiling areas.  As the weather gets cool they don’t want to return back outside, so now they randomly appear inside your home.  This situation becomes very difficult for us to treat.  The best prevention is to deal with these pests during the spring and summer season.  Being on our Home Protection Plan is the best method to control all these types of pests.  In the event you find yourself in this position this fall, call All County, we can help, but we will recommend that you get on a protection plan to avoid these complicated situations in the future.

This is the time of year you need to double check that all trees and bushes remain cut back away from your home. Not only does this make for a healthier home, this time of year it will deter pests from wanting to nest in your home and using these areas as entrance ways.  Make sure all windows and doors are properly caulked and sealed, this is for pest prevention as well as heat loss. Seal up any openings in foundation where pipes or electrical enter the home. Rodents will soon be exploring these areas for nesting.
